Data Collected Through Connected Social Accounts and AI Assistants
Connected social accounts
When you connect a social account (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, X, Mastodon or others) you authorize us to store the connection credentials (OAuth access and refresh tokens) and account identifiers provided by that platform, including the account handle and display name, which may be your real name, your profile photo URL, and the token expiry date. We store the posts you create (text, media, mentions, tags and locations), scheduling data, and analytics snapshots retrieved from the platforms, including follower demographic breakdowns (age, gender, location ranges) where the platform provides them.
AI assistants (ChatGPT plugin and MCP)
When you use SocialRobot through ChatGPT or another MCP client, the assistant acts on your behalf after you complete the OAuth connection. Tool calls send the inputs you or the assistant provide (account identifiers, post content, media, date ranges, search queries) to our servers, and responses return the data listed above to the assistant so it can show you results. LinkedIn mention searches may return the names, headlines and profile photos of other LinkedIn members as search results; we use them only to build the mention you request. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Purposes
Providing scheduling and publishing to the platforms you connect, analytics and reporting, mention and location targeting, account management, support, security and abuse prevention.
Recipients
The social platforms whose APIs we call with your credentials (each governs its own data under its policy), our media storage provider (Cloudflare R2), transactional email (Resend), payments (Stripe) and, when you use an AI assistant, the assistant provider (OpenAI), which processes your conversation under its own policy.
Retention
Connection credentials remain until you disconnect the account or delete your SocialRobot account, which revokes them where the platform permits. Posts and media remain until you delete them or your account. Analytics snapshots are kept to power historical reporting and are removed with your account.
Your controls
You can disconnect any social account at any time (revoking our access) and delete individual posts in the app. To receive a copy of your data or delete your account entirely, contact hey@socialrobot.io.
Data Processing Agreements
When we share your data with third-party service providers, we do so under the protection of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) that ensure your information is managed in accordance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws. These agreements mandate that third parties implement adequate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of your data.
Transparency and Control
We believe in transparency and providing you with control over your personal information. You will always be informed about any significant changes to our sharing practices, and where applicable, you will have the option to consent to such changes.
Your trust is important to us, and we strive to ensure that your personal information is disclosed only in accordance with this policy and when there is a justified reason to do so.
