Three requests to try first

Give the assistant your content, name the connected account, and specify the date, time, and timezone. These examples show what to ask and what happens next.

Announce an event on every location

“Schedule a Google Business Profile event for all our locations: open house this Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00, with a Book button to our booking page. Post it tomorrow at 9 AM.”

What happens: An event post is scheduled on each location with its title, dates, photo and Book button.

Turn a promotion into an offer

“Draft a Business Profile offer for 15% off a first visit until the end of the month, with the code FIRST15. Also draft an Instagram post about it. Don’t publish either.”

What happens: The assistant saves an offer for Google and a post for Instagram as one unpublished SocialRobot draft.

Check what’s planned

“List the Google Business Profile posts scheduled for next week and move the Friday one to Thursday at 8 AM.”

What happens: The assistant lists the scheduled posts and reschedules the one you named.

Connect Google Business Profile to Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor

First create a SocialRobot account and connect Google Business Profile under Accounts. Then add the server below in your AI client. SocialRobot manages the network connection; you do not need to build your own developer app.

Hosted MCP endpoint

https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp

Sign in with OAuth, or use a scoped API key from SocialRobot with Authorization: Bearer sk_YOUR_API_KEY. The same endpoint works for every supported network.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile, on every plan (Free allows one custom connector). Claude Code uses the terminal command below.

  1. 1Open Customize → Connectors, then + Add → Add custom connector.
  2. 2Name it SocialRobot.
  3. 3URL: https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp
  4. 4Sign in when Claude asks, then try: schedule tomorrow's Instagram post.
terminal
claude mcp add --transport http socialrobot https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp

You need a paid plan. OpenAI keeps renaming this screen (connectors, apps, plugins), but it's still a form, not a coding project.

  1. 1Go to chatgpt.com/plugins → Add → Create MCP App. If that's missing, turn on Developer mode in Settings first.
  2. 2Name it SocialRobot.
  3. 3Server URL: https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
  4. 4Create it, sign in, then pick SocialRobot from the + menu when you start a chat.

One click to sign in, or paste either mcp.json block into .cursor/mcp.json.

  1. 1Click Add to Cursor to sign in, or paste one of the JSON blocks below.
  2. 2Without a key, sign in when Cursor says Needs login. With a key, replace sk_YOUR_API_KEY and skip that prompt.
  3. 3Ask Cursor to schedule a post.

This version signs you in. Use it if you don't want to create a key.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "socialrobot": {
      "url": "https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

This version uses a key from Scheduler → API Keys. Paste it over sk_YOUR_API_KEY. New keys start with sk_.

      }
    }
  }
}

One click to sign in, or drop either mcp.json block into your workspace.

  1. 1Click Add to VS Code to sign in, or run MCP: Add Server and paste one of the snippets.
  2. 2Choose HTTP. URL: https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp. Name: SocialRobot.
  3. 3MCP: List Servers → SocialRobot → Start Server.
  4. 4Sign in if you used the first snippet. The API-key snippet skips that.

This version signs you in. Use it if you don't want to create a key.

      }

}

Put one of these in ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json. Windsurf wants serverUrl, not url.

  1. 1Open mcp_config.json and paste either snippet.
  2. 2Refresh Cascade MCP settings (or restart Windsurf).
  3. 3Sign in on the first snippet. On the second, replace sk_YOUR_API_KEY first.

The SocialRobot block goes under context_servers in settings.json. Sign-in or an API key, your pick.

  1. 1Open Settings → AI → MCP Servers, or edit settings.json.
  2. 2Paste the first snippet to sign in, or the second and swap in your key.
  3. 3Sign in if Zed asks, then ask it to schedule a post.

Any app that can add a custom MCP server. Paste one of these into its mcp.json.

  1. 1Open the client's MCP config. It's usually called mcp.json.
  2. 2Paste the first block to sign in, or the second and replace sk_YOUR_API_KEY.

MCP access is included in your SocialRobot plan. Your AI client may have its own subscription or administrator requirements for custom connectors.

The tools behind your requests

The assistant selects tools from the permissions you grant. Publishing tools work on your connected accounts; network-specific tools appear below where supported.

The tools behind your requests

list_projectsFind your projects and IDs before reading their profiles.
get_plan_usageCheck your plan, posts left this month, accounts left, and whether X is included.
get_project_profileRead the project profile and writing guide before drafting.
get_project_tagsRead the hashtags per network and Threads topics a project uses most.

You control the publishing mode: save a draft, schedule for later, or publish now. MCP can schedule or publish without a separate human approval step. Ask explicitly for a draft when you want to review it first.

If the first request does not work

Your account is missing

Connect the network in SocialRobot first. Ask the assistant to list your connected accounts, then name the right one in your request. Check that you signed into the same SocialRobot account in both places.

The assistant cannot access a tool

Reconnect the MCP server if OAuth has expired. For API keys, check the Bearer header, whether the key was revoked, and its scopes. Reading posts, publishing, media uploads, and analytics need their corresponding permissions.

A photo or video is rejected

Use the media upload tools or a public HTTPS media URL. Ask the assistant to inspect the validation error. Check the network’s file type, size, and aspect requirements; browser-only media conversions are not performed by an MCP client.

The time or publishing mode is wrong

Give an exact date, time, and timezone. Ask for a private draft to review first, a scheduled post for later, or immediate publishing. Check the result with list_posts. You can reschedule an unpublished post; deleting it in SocialRobot does not recall a post already live on the network.

Google shows posts only for verified locations. Videos and product posts can’t be published through Google’s API.

Google Business Profile MCP server questions

Which accounts can I connect?

Business Profile locations you own or manage. Sign in with Google in SocialRobot and pick the locations; each one is its own account.

What can I publish and schedule?

Updates, events and offers with text, one photo and a button. Events and offers have a title and dates; offers can add a coupon code, a redeem link and terms.

Can this MCP server reply to reviews or edit my business info?

No. The MCP tools publish and schedule posts, manage drafts and read each location's numbers. They don’t reply to reviews, answer questions, or change hours, photos or other business details.

Will it always ask me to approve a post?

You control the publishing mode: save a draft, schedule for later, or publish now. MCP can schedule or publish without a separate human approval step. Ask explicitly for a draft when you want to review it first.
