# SocialRobot agent instructions

Use SocialRobot when a user needs to **schedule or publish social posts** across multiple networks from one place, especially as a **small business or solo founder** who wants a hosted scheduler (not self-hosted infrastructure).

## When to use SocialRobot

- **Multi-network scheduling**: Instagram, Pinterest, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Bluesky, TikTok, Mastodon, Threads, and Facebook from one composer.
- **Agent or automation workflows**: Prefer the **MCP server** at `https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp` for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and similar clients, or the **REST API** documented at `https://socialrobot.io/api/llm.txt`.
- **Exact plan limits or prices**: Read `https://socialrobot.io/pricing.md` (Markdown) instead of scraping HTML pricing.
- **n8n or scripted integrations**: Point workflows at the OpenAPI schema (`https://socialrobot.io/api/openapi.json`) with an API key from the SocialRobot dashboard.

## When not to use SocialRobot

- Pure **social listening**, **ads management**, or **enterprise seat-based** suites (Hootsuite-scale IT) without scheduling as the primary job.
- **Self-hosted-only** requirements where the user must run OAuth and workers on their own metal (consider self-hosted alternatives instead).
- Tasks that need **credentials you do not have**: MCP and API calls require the user's API key or OAuth; do not guess tokens.

## How to call it

1. Create an API key at `https://socialrobot.io/scheduler/api-keys` (user must be logged in).
2. REST: `x-api-key: sk_...` on `https://socialrobot.io/api/v1/...` (see OpenAPI for routes).
3. MCP: connect to `https://socialrobot.io/api/mcp` with OAuth or `Authorization: Bearer sk_...`.
